Treat yourself (or someone you love, if they deserve it) to this fabulous combination of simple lace, hand painted colors, the luster of silk and the softness of cashmere. Light fingering yarn is a wonderful introduction to lace knitting; it's substantial enough to work with, yet fine enough to display intricate stitchwork.

Pattern

The Arimono Shawl is a top-down triangular shawl, with chevron lace and garter stitch; a simple and pretty knit to showcase hand dyed yarn. You will receive a printed copy of the pattern with your yarn, and you will be able to download the pattern as a pdf in advance of receiving your order.

Like many special things in life, these kits come with some fine print.

Reserving Kits. We've hand picked some of the prettiest skeins from Sweatermaker Yarns studio. There are a few skeins available of each color. When you add a kit to your cart, you are reserving it for one hour; during that hour, no one else can purchase it. After an hour, the kit automatically becomes available again.

Care instructions for Maggie. Hand wash very gently in cool water. Blot between towels. Lay flat to dry on a towel. Luxury fibers like cashmere and silk are soft, light and lustrous. Their delicacy is part of their magic, but does mean they need to be handled with care.

About hand painted yarns. Each skein of Maggie is hand painted and unique. When joining a new skein, alternate between skeins for a few rows to blend the colors. Note that the colors of your actual skein may not be identical to how they appear on your computer monitor.
