Arimono Shawl

Arimono is a top down, triangular shawl in two sizes.

Alternating bands of chevron lace and stockinette are finished off with diamond lace and garter stitch. The triangular points of the lace fit neatly into the shaping of the shawl for a satisfyingly geometric design. Straightforward stitch patterns and lots of rest rows make this a nice way to ease into lace knitting. And the contrasts between lace, garter stitch, and stockinette are a beautiful way to showcase luxury yarns.

Skill Level easy-intermediate (basic knit/purl, basic lace)

Small: 2 skeins Sweatermaker Yarns Maggie, light fingering weight, 70% silk 30% cashmere, 50 g/230 m per skein
Large: 3 skeins Brooklyn Tweed Loft, fingering weight, 100% wool, 50 g/275 yards per skein

Finished Measurements
Small (Large) 49 (66)" wide by 24½ (33)" high after blocking

Tension/gauge 24 (21.5) sts and 36 (34) rows = 4"/10cm in St st, blocked

NeedlesUS 4/3.5 mm (US 6/4.0 mm) circular needles long enough to accommodate a large number of stitches.
