Sweetgeorgia Yarns
Posted by Megan Goodacre on Feb 22, 2012

I have a problem resisting fingering weight yarn. Treated myself to some (more) Sweetgeorgia CashLuxe Fine in Pistachio and Cayenne. Then noticed that my Cash Luxe Fine, even the pink tag, perfectly matches the pillow I made (years ago) with fabric from Tonic Living. Can't remember the fabric's designer, I'm guessing Micheal Miller.
You can see a clearer picture of CashLuxe in Mist here. It was on the needles, but I realized I didn't have enough for the project I was attempting. Ha, there's another point for Knitting Mistakes and How to Avoid Them : don't pretend you have enough yarn when you know you don't. It will only end in heartbreak.
We'd love to hear from you. Add a comment

| Oh my it's gorgeous! And hey, I have a needle roll made out of the same fabric as your pillow! Good to know what those colours look like in comparison in case I feel compulsed to order some :) | |

Sweet! Thanks Megan! I know....talking about yarn makes me want to buy more too. I may have to do a little online shopping at work this afternoon....heeheehee :) I will try to check out the books at Uptown (do they sell for the same?) but if I can't make it there I'll order it online and get you to drop it off (thanks for offering that)....I'm in Comox. Love your stuff, A

oops, got so distracted by thinking about yarn that I didn't answer the other questions. No, haven't tried it for socks. It makes a lovely fabric on 3.75mm. Great stitch definition. Lovely drape. And the cashmere adds a gorgeous halo after it's wetblocked. I'll pm you about the notebooks. M

Hi Andrea! I got some directly from Sweetgeorgia's website. Delivery takes a few days for yarn in stock. So many choices. I got the Mist from Mad About Ewe in Nanaimo, they carry some Sweetgeorgia. Talking about where to buy yarn just makes me want to buy more yarn. Megan

Hey Tricksy, Did you buy that Sweet Georgia yarn in the Valley? (Which shop?) It's beautiful.....have you ever used it for socks? Also I want one of your notebooks (the grid one) but don't really want to pay the shipping; I think we live in the same area. Would it be possible to either meet somewhere and I'll pay cash....or leave it with one of our LYS and I could pay them cash? I am a frequent customer at Village Yarn Shoppe but can also go to Uptown if it is closer to you. Let me know if this does or does not work for you. Andrea
