Embed Your Color Chart into Blogspot

Posted by Charles Jaimet on Nov 3, 2010

Okay, I showed in an earlier post how to embed a color chart into a Word Press blog. Problem is that the free WordPress blogs strip out the code that draws the chart.

Not so with Google's Blogger.

Blogger, also known as Blogspot, keeps everything so you can show your color charts right in your blog.

When you create a color chart with the Tricksy Chartmaker, you will see at the bottom a jumble of code  like this:

Embed your Tricksy Color Chart

Copy all of it (from <div id=... to .../script>) and paste it into your post.

Before you paste though you'll need to do one thing. See at the top right corner of the Blogspot area for posting it says Edit HTML and Compose? You start in Compose mode. This is just like typing in Microsoft Word. If you want to make something bold you select it and click the bold button. In Edit HTML mode you have to write your own HTML. That's a pain for just composing a post, but it's essential for doing anything more complicated. Like embedding a color chart.

So switch to Edit HTML by clicking Edit HTML. Now, where you want the color chart to appear in your blog post, paste the embed code.

Now click PUBLISH POST at the bottom and you're done. Your color chart *should* be on your blog. Take a look at your blog post to be sure. Here's mine:
