A Change of Pace: Purple Starfish

Needing a change of pace, and a birthday gift for a friend, I decided to tackle one of the patterns in Amigurumi Knits: Patterns for 20 Cute Mini Knits

This kind of knitting is such a refreshing change from the mileage that goes into sweater knitting. I love to read "Cast on 15 stitches." Such a friendly small number. I used two yarns for the main colour, Elann Bamboo Classic and Diamond Luxury Collection something-or-other. The contrast colour for the underside is some nameless cotton yarn from my stash. Oh yeah, and this is a great stash buster.
I'm thinking the garlic bulb pattern is next in the queue...
