More cowlish goodness

I was hoping to release this today. Actually, I was hoping to release it yesterday then delayed it to today. This time of year, work moves a little slower and must be packed in small snippets around the oddly shaped objects that are children and their activities. (Warning: pending relocation means there will be an excess of moving metaphors).

Lundell Pullover is ready!

I know, I've been hinting at this one for some time, but it's ready! The Lundell Pullover is a wonderful sweater; cosy, simple, comfortable. Thanks to Jan Malone for knitting the sample! It was great to get it in the mail and try it on, and it fit perfectly. I've been wearing it a lot these days.

Double Treat Friday! New Yarn and New Free Pattern

A few days ago, I posted about visiting the Sweatermaker Yarns studio and picking up a few new skeins of Maggie, a gorgeous light fingering weight, luxury yarn, 70% silk and 30% cashmere. The kind of blend that floats around your neck and makes you feel extra-loved.

Infinite luxury

Have you noticed the infinity scarves everywhere this season? It's not like they're a new thing, but all of a sudden they're on everyone's neck. I've been a big fan for a while now: they stay on your neck (harder to lose), they are a nice size (less knitting for lazy knitters like me) and take less yarn than a big scarf (for bargain-hunting knitters like me).

Boiseau sneak peek

Boiseau sneak peek

That bright thing in the sky, as bright as the sun, what could it be? Oh right, it's the sun.

You used to hear me bellow on a daily basis "I NEED MORE RAM". Finally, I have it. I had to borrow (take) Charles's (newer) iMac. Editing photos is fun again.

In celebration of this rare sunshine, I spent the morning taking pictures of new designs. Here is a peek at one of them: the Boiseau Wrap.

Hollywell Cardigan

I can't tell you how exciting it is to see patterns come back to you online as new projects. I couldn't believe how quickly this one, yarnosaurus's Hollywell Cardigan, came together. I love how it turned out; the fit is great, the colours pop and I love how her dark hair goes with the dark yarn at the base. Such a wearable piece, and wonderfully finished.

Study Hall Knits in Print!

Study Hall Knits in Print!

My first, well, book. The kids did suggest that it's not quite thick enough to be a "book". Okay, a booklet. But still, it has my name on the cover and has a bit of heft to it, so...

Knit Picks is doing something pretty cool; they are taking some of their eBook pattern collections, and getting them printed as these really nice, high quality books. In this digital age, so many of us have moved over to screens instead of paper, but there is something wonderful about print and the feel of smooth paper and the smell of ink.

A little Lundell

A little Lundell

Another little reveal of a new one: the Lundell Pullover in Knit Picks Capra. Simple and subtle. Cosy and flattering. I try hard to not wear samples until the pattern is 100% done, but this one has been too soft to resist.
